Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition to launch July 7th

Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition to launch July 7th

Last week the mobile world was given a look at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition courtesy of a leak, and today some new news has arrived in the form of a more-than-likely launch date. Samsung’s German website is teasing the product – which of course is not named or pictured – with the slogan “Ge7 ready” and a date set for, of course, 7/7.
The phone is expected to be the same product as the standard Galaxy S7 Edge with the exception being that there are five different colors on display, Black for the body, Gold for the Home Button perimeter and earpiece, Red for the power button, and Green for the volume toggles. Put them all together and what do you get? A potential collector’s item in the making, especially if the games end up being canceled as some argue.
In addition to the color differences, the phone is likely to include custom wallpapers and possible a Theme related to the pending summer sports competition. There may also be special offers as well, such as e-coupons or discounts and such as part of the tie-in.
Pricing and availability is currently unknown, however the fact that the teaser is on a site other than Samsung Korea’s would seemingly imply there is hope for a more wide-scale launch, unlike some special smartphones. While it is possible this could become a standard model available for the entire summer, it’s probably safer to assume there will be a relatively low production run.
Make sure to check back on the 7th for all the dynamic details!
