Samsung Galaxy J2
Rs. 7,399
The South Korean handset maker, Samsung has been making some changes off-late and no one is complaining. Samsung has changed its design philosophy, launched several new series of smartphones and also released dedicated budget segment smartphones. The handset manufacturer has launched Samsuung Galaxy J Series of smartphones to cater to Indian masses with affordable value for money handsets. Samsung has recently added a new device to the series called Galaxy J2, which is as impressive as it looks. Here is a brief overview of the handset to help our reader to make up their mind whether or not they would like to purchase this smartphone.
Design
The design of Samsung Galaxy J2 is in line with the new design philosophy adopted by the brand and the lines of the handset reminds us of the newly launched flagship devices. However, the handset only comes with polycarbonate build, given that it is a budget segment handset. This handset comes with a removable back panel, battery as well as expandable storage.
Display
Samsung has placed a 4.7-inch display on the front panel of this handset, that is good for watching multimedia without straining your eyes. It boasts of a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels viz. QHD, which dulls the visual experience a notch. However, it comes with Samsung's own AMOLED display, which is known to be more sharp and bright then normal IPS displays.
User Experience
For an enhanced user experience, Samsung has pre-installed the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system in this handset. Complete with material design and latest Touchwiz user interface, Samsung Galaxy J2 offers an easy to use interface to its users.
Performance and Battery Life
For a decent performance, Samsung has placed a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, under the rear panel of this smartphone. The processor of the handset has been coupled with 1 GB of RAM, that ensures a smooth and efficient multitasking as well as process handling. However, it is the battery of the handset that disappoints a bit as Samsung has equipped this smartphone with a 2000 mAh battery.
Camera Technology
Since this is a budget segment smartphone from Samsung, the camera setup is not as impressive as found in other handsets by the brand. The rear panel of the device boasts of a 5 Megapixel snapper, whereas, on its front there is 2 Megapixels snapper.
Connectivity
On the connectivity front, Samsung has managed to tick all the right check-boxes as it comes with support for both 4G LTE and 3G. It also comes with other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS.
Verdict
The very fact that Samsung is now launching dedicated budget segment smartphones is a good news for Indian customers. As an affordable offering from the brand, Galaxy J2 sure does brings more to the table than we expected. It is a must have for those who are looking for a powerful handset with good looks and attractive price tag.
