Xiaomi, a brand that has been called Apple of China, lives up to its claim as it climbs the ladder of success globally. The brand has launched a number of smartphones that have been widely acclaimed by Android users around the world. Recently, Apple launched its newest small screen smartphone called iPhone SE and Xiaomi had to come up with a rival device to counter the competition. It is being speculated that the Chinese handset maker is all set to launch a new device called Xiaomi M2 SE in direct competition with iPhone SE. Here is a brief overview of the handset for all those who want the device.
Design
Coming to the design front, the M2 SE would not be much different from the devices that have been launched by the brand in past. It will feature the same unibody design in a metallic body in all probability. However, since it is being launched as a competition for iPhone SE, it will feature a smaller footprint for sure.
Display
Xiaomi is expected to launch this smartphone with a smaller 4.3-inch display as expected, which might not serve the purpose for many users. However, the display is expected to flaunt a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, which is bound to be ultra sharp on a display of this size.
Performance and Battery Life
This smartphone from the brand will be equipped with a good Octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz in all probability. Moreover, Xiaomi will equip the handset with a RAM of 3 GB to ensure that all apps and processes are handled optimally without any lag. Despite the smaller size of the handset, it is expected that it would feature a 3080 mAh battery for a commendable battery life.
Camera Technology
Xiaomi M2 SE is all set to see the daylight with a decent 13 Megapixels primary camera hunched on its rear panel accompanied by a dual tone LED flash. The front panel will also feature a commendable 5 Megapixels snapper for those who love to click themselves.
Connectivity
This small smartphone from the Chinese brand is a dual SIM device that will come with support for both 4G LTE and 3G. Other connectivity options are expected to include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, USB Type-C, Bluetooth and GPS.
Verdict
The handset has been designed to compete with Apple iPhone SE and it seems to be equipped to handle the pressure. With a killer price tag and features to match some of the high-end mid-range smartphones, this smartphone is all set to steal the thunder from iPhone SE. However, Apple has already launched its smaller handset and there is no sign of M2 SE as of now, which makes it doubtful whether it will be launched or not.
